Obstetrical Anesthesia

Program Description

The Obstetric Anesthesia Fellowship aims to prepare a graduate of an anesthesia residency program to be adept with the clinical practice of tertiary level obstetric anesthesia, and to participate actively in educational activities, management of responsibilities, and research projects of a university-affiliated anesthetic program.

The program will normally prepare the fellow to become an active member of the obstetric anesthesia section of a university anesthesia department. Alternatively, he/she will be the resource person for obstetric anesthesia in the anesthesia departments of hospitals with active obstetric services, such as regional centres.
